…In Japan that is. This should come as no surprise, however, as Microsoft has always struggled to find a market for its consoles on that industrious island in the pacific. Japanese citizens typically tend to purchase Japanese products (obviously if they are quality products) over foreign products.
Looking at the sales figures for Japan courtesy of wikipedia, it’s easy to see why Microsoft chose to pull its machines from Japanese stores.

- PlayStation 3 – 6,341,950 as of 1 April 2011 (2011 -04-01)
- Xbox 360 – 1,448,665 as of 1 April 2011 (2011 -04-01)
