On September 13, Nintendo of America announced that the Wii U would have more than 50 games released during the console’s initial launch window, November 18, 2012 through March 31, 2013. This morning, Nintendo confirmed that 23 of those games will be available for the November 18 launch of the Wii U. Nintendo has been fairly tight-lipped concerning details about their newest home console, the Wii U, which is set to release later this fall. However, Target and Amazon.com recently revealed box art for select titles on preorder. Reminiscent of the design for Nintendo’s Gamecube titles, the new look features a blue curve, trimmed at the bottom in yellow, on top of the game artwork. The white Wii U logo is set in the center of the blue curve design.
The year is 2006. The Xbox 360 has been on the market for approximately one year, and video game fans not satisfied with Microsoft’s powerhouse console eagerly await Sony’s Playstation 3, a system that promises even more power coupled with visual and audible perfection. This is the second time Microsoft and Sony have battled for market domination and, when it comes right down to it, both systems are very similar. Just one week after the Japanese launch of the Playstation 3, Nintendo opens the doors to a gaming revolution.

We spend a good chunk of time discussing Nintendo’s press conference and the debut of the finalized Wii U Screen Controller and the line up of titles they demonstrated for the system, including the interesting Nintendoland and Zombi U. Yesterday I put together a page of all of the different game trailers that were shown during the various press conferences. Today I will do things a little bit different, mostly because much of what was shown happened in very quick, successive clips. The other reason being the fact that quite a bit of what you want to know was revealed during the keynote speech.
